Merlin gives Valiant a clue to lifting the grim seige of King Arthur by the Saxon invaders, but, seduced by the Lady of the Lake, neglects to tell him more than a single word: "Stirrups!" Eventually, Valiant and Sir Gawain choose to make the Christian pilgrimage to Jerusalem and become by misadventure knights alone in a land which wants them dead!
