ENGLISH DESCRIPTION A young Chilean leaves his country in 1974 for East Germany, fleeing from the Pinochet dictatorship and seeking refuge in communism. There, he falls in love with the daughter of Commander Ulises Cienfuegos, who gives his consent for the marriage on the condition that the couple live in Cuba, where the ideals of the Revolution had been the will of the people. From the peace and liberty of the island, the young man had hoped to wait for his native country to recover its democratic tranquility. But Cuban socialism and the Chilean dictatorship begin to acquire distressing similarities. An orphan of political ideals, at the same time that he discovers that in Chile, nothing will ever be the same as it used to be, several of his political allies and family members become the very enemies he is trapped with.
